JD's Wood Elf Page
Starting a Wood Elf Army Starting a Wood Elf army is as simple as one, two, three. The first thing I recommend is that you buy two boxes of archers. This will create the core of your army.

The second thing you will want to do is start buying either Treemen, or Glade Gaurds. The Treemen are valuable but can cost alot of points. The Glade Gaurd cost alot of points too but are not that great, infact I take them to be a waste of time.

Also I recommend that all players purchase the Wood Elf handbook because you will have all of the important information inside. I reccommend you buying the book right after you have two boxes of Archers.

Now there we have a start, next you might think about buying some Warhawk Riders or a Forest Dragon. These two characters are all a part of the Wood Elf Army.

The Wood Elves are great archers and most of their Army is centered around long ranged arsenals. The Wood Elves have a 36" range and they use long bows so that their profficiency is increased. Here below is a bacic breakdown of a few models.

The Archers are by far the best in the Wood Elf Army. The can shoot up to 36" and have armour peircing tips. They make up a large section of your troops.

The Glade Gaurd are the Spearmen of the Wood Elves. They are the bacic hand to hand combat characters that you can purchase. They are expensive in points (9 points a character) and are not that great on the battlefeild.

Treemen are great to make up as a second core force, they are much better than the Glade Gaurd. But they are extreamly high in points.

Dryads, these suckers will slaughter the enomy. Their skin is rock hard but fire plays a major role in their destruction. When useing Dryads watch out for Flame Cannons and such.

Waywatchers are the most tactfull characters in the game. These miniatures cloak themselfs and snipper troops as they pass. They can set traps including pits with spikes, poisones gasses and other things like that.

And last but not least I have the Glade Riders. These horsebacked warriors are the crem-della-crem of the horsemen area. They are equipet with long bows, swords and they can trample over any ground without being slowed down by the useual sceenery.

Well thats all I have right now so look here in the future for more on the Wood Elves.

Some warriors chose to stay behind and found their of communities. They addapted to the woods around them. In time the Wood Elves created their own culture and war style. Thay are constantly having to deffend their forests from the Orc & Goblin Horde. The Wood Elves have befreiended many other creatures like the Dryad and Treemen, along with the large war birds, all these animals help out the Wood Elves in saving their forest from invading attackers.
